At New Charter, we could tell you our people are our greatest asset. Every company says that. Instead, we’ll just show you. It’s not just something we say. We truly hire top talent and build trust through shared values, and that’s what drives us forward.

We believe in investing in our people first. When we do that, it shows. From how we collaborate, how we execute, and the level of service we bring to this ever-evolving industry.

So, who are the faces behind all this momentum?

Meet Adam Huelsmann, our Director of Operations at CTS Technology Solutions Inc., a New Charter company

How long have you been part of the CTS Technology Solutions team?

I have been part of the CTS team for 14 years. I started off as a field service technician and over the years progressed through help desk technician, tier II technician, IT/Voice installation technician, sales engineer, install manager, and am now the director of operations. I am currently in the process of transitioning to Sr. director of platform services for New Charter.

What is a part of your role that people outside operations might not realize goes into keeping things running smoothly?

A lot of what keeps operations running smoothly happens behind the scenes. Beyond managing day-to-day activities, there is constant planning, coordination, and communication between departments to ensure our teams have the resources, information, and support they need to service clients effectively.

Much of the effort goes into anticipating potential issues before they become challenges and creating processes that allow our teams to focus on delivering a great customer experience.

What is something about CTS Technology Solutions’ approach to its people and culture that you think sets it apart?

One thing that sets CTS apart is the genuine investment in its people. There is a strong culture of teamwork, collaboration, and support, where employees are encouraged to grow both professionally and personally. Leadership truly values employees’ input, and there is a shared commitment to helping one another succeed, which creates an environment where people enjoy coming to work and building long-term careers.

What’s a piece of advice you got early on that you still lean on today?

“Don’t worry about the past, focus on the future.” It’s a simple reminder that while there is value in learning from mistakes and challenges, you can’t change what has already happened. Staying focused on what comes next helps maintain a positive outlook and keeps you moving forward.

What was your very first job, and what did it teach you?

My first job was during high school through college as a Sandwich Artist at Quiznos. It taught me the importance of customer service, teamwork, and staying calm in a fast-paced environment. It also showed me that even small interactions can have a big impact on a customer’s experience.

If you could instantly teleport somewhere right now, where would you go and why?

I’d choose somewhere tropical with an overwater bungalow. The combination of beautiful scenery, warm weather, and the peaceful atmosphere would make it the perfect place to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with my family.

Tell us about a small win this past week. It can be work or personal!

One highlight from this past week was organizing a team outing that brought together employees from CTS, Stronghold, and Systems Solutions, along with several of our clients, for a Cardinals game at Busch Stadium. It was a great opportunity to strengthen relationships, build new connections, and spend time together outside of work. To top it all off, the Cardinals snapped a losing streak and came away with a win, making the day even more memorable!
